It is with mixed feelings that I announce the upcoming closure of Frangipani Baby. For eight years, I have dedicated so much of my life to making babywearing accessible to many through education, support and retail. While operating this business I have been raising my young family as a single parent, and for the last three years have also been working in community health. Doing all of this has proven to be a challenge at times, however running Frangipani Baby has afforded me opportunities to connect and engage and share my knowledge and skills with many people, particularly during their challenging early parenting months. I couldn’t have done so without the support of all of you who have showed so much love through kind, encouraging words, and through purchasing products from my store. For that, I am forever grateful. Making this decision was bittersweet. I would like to acknowledge Meredith who launched Frangipani Baby in 2008, and Tara who operated it for a few years before transferring it to me. I have loved owning and operating this business – from my purchase of Frangipani Baby a couple of months after my youngest baby was born in 2015, to collaborating with many Australian brands to release and sell their amazing products, working with overseas companies to bring a mix of high end and accessible products to Australia and working alongside so many other passionate people in this industry - online, through babywearing meets, expos and markets. Babywearing introduced me to many people who are amongst my closest friends today. I would particularly like to acknowledge all the babywearing peer groups who I’ve had the pleasure to work with in person or online. Though it’s so hard to let go of something I love so much, I am incredibly excited to move into the next part of my life with my family, which includes downsizing dramatically as we prepare to move into an apartment. This meant having to decide what to do with Frangipani Baby, given my stock currently resides in a dedicated room in our house. I don’t have the time or finances to commit to running an online retail business with products located elsewhere, so I have made the decision to close. I have marked all products down on the website, and encourage you to get your favourites while they’re available. The online shop is scheduled to close at the end of October, OR when all items have sold out.
Again, thank you so much for the love and support these past six years. Without you, Frangipani Baby would not have been what it is.
All my love,
