100% cotton, handwoven wrap

Our latest Khadi Project -- Galileo (Leo) named after one of the most significant people in the history of science. He was an Italian physicist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer, and philosopher who played a major role in the scientific revolution. Personally, the name Leo is very close to my heart (you know who you are!). I thought it was apt to name it after someone who is and will always be Bebe Sachi’s #1 critique.

Leo has a colourful warp with 3 distinct coloured wefts (Maroon, Black and Natur) repeating itself. Just like life’s journey, we imprint upon ourselves all the colours of the spectrum from all our life experiences.
Maroon (a variation of red) signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership qualities, promoting ambition and determination. It denotes controlled and more thoughtful action.

Black implies self-control and discipline, independence and a strong will, and giving an impression of authority and power. It gives the impression of elegance, sophistication and confidence.

Natur is the color of perfection. It reflects purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. It is the color of new beginnings as it opens the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive. Its basic feature is equality, implying fairness and impartiality, neutrality and independence.

Leo was woven by Jakir who has been weaving our main line Bebe Sachi wraps but this is the first time he has woven a khadi. Leo Khadi is by far the most perfect khadi ever produced and it can be seen in the wrap itself. We believe that our wraps are like living fabric. It breathes...It has the artist's heart woven into every piece of wrap they produce. Some mamas have expressed that sometimes they feel a connection to the wrap so much so that they have always been touched emotionally by them. Its as if the weaver translated a part of him into the fabric. We hope you will love wearing these beautiful pieces of art as much as we love making it for you!
